Cancellation Insurance

TPI in collaboration with RBC Travel Insurance offers travel cancellation insurance to protect you when unforeseen circumstances force you to cancel your trip. Cancellation and interruption insurance can protect you from losing valuable airfare or other travel-related expenses.

Trip Cancellation and Interruption travel insurance provide coverage of your insured trip cost when you or a Traveling Companion cancel or interrupt a trip for any covered reasons. An early interruption of your trip can cause you to lose more than your trip cost, due to the last minute ticket purchase to return home early.

Our travel insurance policies protect you against non-refundable airline tickets, cruise tickets and other no refundable travel expenses. Getting an insurance quote is easy and free on our site.

Cancellation insurance shall be purchased at the time of initial travel deposit or the initial payment date for your trip shall be within 48 hours of the application date for any travel insurance policy that covers cancellation and interruption. If you have not booked the travel insurance within 48 hours of the initial payment date we can still book the cancellation travel insurance for you. In order to book the travel insurance for you we need the following information:

  • Trip Start Date
  • Trip End Date
  • Initial Trip Payment Date
  • Total cost of the trip per person
  • Billing Address
  • Name & Date of Birth for each passenger
  • Telephone Number

Any of the following travel insurance products covers cancellation and interruption:

  • Deluxe package (best meets your travel requirements)
  • Non-medical package
  • Travel within Canada package
  • Cancellation and Interruption

 

 

Before Departure the insurance covers the non-refundable portion of prepaid travel arrangements, due to the cancellation penalties that may be charged by the transportation carrier or tour operator.

After Departure insurance covers the costs associated with an early or delayed return, and the non-refundable portion of unused prepaid travel arrangements.

Subsistence Allowance insurance provides the reimbursement of expenses incurred as a result of one of the specified insured risks. Expenses can include your commercial accommodations and meals, essential telephone calls, and taxi fares, up to the specified maximum.

Cancellation and Interruption Travel Insurance is designed to cover your travel investment, this insurance protects you from the costs that arise when a sickness, an injury or another unexpected situation disrupts your travel plans. Before departure, it covers the cancellation penalties that may be charged by the airline or tour operator and, after departure, it covers the costs associated with an early or delayed return.
